Life takes many turns, and the truth is that this collaboration with the Educational Service of l’Auditori is one that we did not expect. A concert? For children and young people? We were in doubt, but we finally got to work to present this fascinating musical journey through Latin America, with the fantastic Barcelona City Band, directed by the unstoppable Henrie Adams.
After all the Christmas celebrations, people start the year with new resolutions… Some of them they will quit smoking, some others will join the gym, and others will star a diet…. And for whom who think they want to go to the theatre more often, they must know that is plenty of choices in the Barcelona theatre lists, and know that La Cubana will be staying in the Coliseum Theater till 12th of march. ¡Don’t oversleep, and go to buy your tickets!
Our group is a little bit irreverent and fool. Where you must be on the New Year’s Eve?: In the Coliseum Theater. La Cubana prepared an endearing evening: “Gente Bien. El Musical” and before and after the countdown, a musical selection sung by the company members, that delighted the audience who have been very lucky to find tickets for this especial evening!
And it is then when you realize that we are on Christmas again. Moreover, in these days we get soft… And we take the stock of the year we leave, we make new year’s resolutions, and while doing it, we eat and drink! With all the joy we have had this year, we just only have to thank and greet you all! Merry Christmas and happy 2017!

This morning La Cubana has presented its new show to the media, which is going to be host in Teatre Coliseum. You have seen it if you have passed by… The entire crowd…. the music… the wealth…. the dressing… They have told us that everything is almost ready! That we are welcome to join them from Thursday 29th September! We cannot wait!
We sneaked into the Count of Rierola’s Palace to attend a lordly photo shoot. It was full of luxury… In this family they have a lot of money… Of course, because they are wealthy people. As far as I know, they soon will open their Palace doors to everyone who wants to visit them… From 29th of September at Teatre Coliseum of Barcelona.
After a month lying in a hammock enjoying the sea views with a book in one hand and a cold beer in the other… it is not pleasant going back to routine… Why to deny it?
To arrive to work after a traffic jam, to start a diet again, to feel the days shrinking again… and to discover that we are already planning things for December… it is quite depressing and we have to make an effort to rise our spirits again.
The luck is to walk by la Gran Via de Barcelona and see that there are some things that cheer you up to begin the new season… La Cubana has been building the decoration of its new play on the façade of the Teatre Coliseum, to announce us there are nearby… that they are nearly here… That almost everything is ready to raise the curtains… From 29th of September, we will find them in Teatre Coliseum with the new show “Gente Bien. After few months of preparations! After lots of rehearsals and tunings with Laura, who has been our pianist and vocal coach! After many egg whites, honey, crushed ice… and some other lyric singers remedies… We were ready to go to the recording studio with the music for our new show “Gente Bien. El Musical” (Wealthy People. The Musical). Joan Vives joined us, as always, in this crazy journey… He has composed a beautiful operetta that is played by the musicians from the Auditori de Barcelona, which are playing it with an incredible energy. The result is excellent. Let us see if you feel hunger for more after this little taste…
“Yesterday I saw Paquita Santesmases, the lady from flat 3, the one who was married to the solicitor but got divorced after he had an affaire with his secretary. Anyway, she told me that Francisco and his children want to go to the Theatre Coliseum to watch La Cubana’s new show in October… Didn’t you know that Paquita is going out with Francisco? Yes, Francisco, from the butcher’s. He is a widower with three kids; he joined the same painting course Paquita was doing at the community centre, and stroke here stroke there love appeared… The thing is, she asked me if we agreed on forming a group with them to go to the theatre. There’s already five of them, Rocío and Astrid, from the baker’s are also going with their boyfriends. As is my son Albert, who is going with Ruth, from flat 5 – they have been seeing each other for a few weeks now… – that’s right, Ruth from the students’ flat… She is very pretty and whenever I’ve run into her on the roof terrace when picking up the laundry she’s always seemed very nice. I hope it works out… After the thing with Leti, Albert has been a bit depressed… And he now looks much happier. ¡No, it’s not a date! ¡No! They’re not going on their own, his bike-shop buddies are also going with them… Very nice lads, yes, only, there is this one, Santi, who is a handful, he is always playing the field… Yes, yes, it’s understandable, they are young, they don’t know what they want.
The thing is… where was i? Oh, yes, Mercedes and Mila from the haberdashery are also going with three friends from aqua aerobics, and if we join them, we will be twenty-one… And the price is awesome. Its 23,76€ per person… ¡A bargain! ¡Come on, girl, it will be fun!”
