Jordi Milán, director of La Cubana, receives the SGAE Medal of Honor

We are thrilled to announce that Jordi Milán, director of La Cubana, has been awarded the 2025 SGAE Medal of Honor in recognition of his outstanding career and contribution to the performing arts.

SGAE has honoured Jordi Milán as the soul of La Cubana, “who, under his direction, has brought theatre closer to the public with a unique style full of humour, complicity and creativity.

Since 1986, Jordi Milán has created and led more than twenty iconic productions that have left their mark on generations, including Cómeme el coco, negro, Campanades de boda, Cegada de amor, and Adiós Arturo, among many others.

This year award ceremony will take place on May 21st at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, where Joaquín Sabina, Gema R. Neira and Editorial Boileau will also be honoured. A tribute will also be paid to María Lejárraga, who has been named honorary president posthumously.

This recognition of Jordi is one we also share with everyone who has been, or is currently, part of La Cubana. Congratulations, Jordi!
