Most of us who work in this profession come from amateur theatre. To pay this tribute, we have chosen as our excuse a play that has been performed by the majority of amateur theatre groups in Catalonia: <em>L\u2019amor venia amb taxi<\/em>, by Rafael Anglada.<\/p>\n<p>However, as you already know, behind every La Cubana project, there is always something completely different. In this case, if we say we are doing \u201ca musical,\u201d it is because we truly are. But of course, it is a musical done \u201cthe Catalan way\u201d and \u201cour way\u201d: with the signature ingredients of our company: humor, surprises, audience participation, and a deep affection for a special way of understanding theatre. When you come to see it, you\u2019ll understand!<\/p>\n<p>This tribute is being held at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teatreromea.cat\/ca\/\"><strong>Teatre Romea<\/strong><\/a>, not by chance, but because this venue has long been considered <em>the temple of Catalan theatre<\/em>. It has also been the epicenter of this industry: from Editorial Mill\u00e0 on Sant Pau Street, the Salvador brothers on Carretes Street, the Peris brothers on Junta de Comer\u00e7 Street, to Damaret on La Rambla.<\/p>\n<p>For La Cubana, returning to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teatreromea.cat\/ca\/\"><strong>Teatre Romea<\/strong><\/a> holds a very special meaning, as it was the first venue\u2014after performing street theatre\u2014where we staged our first indoor production: <em>La Tempestad<\/em>, in 1986.
